The Outdoor Juniper Bonsai Tree – For the Beginner Bonsai Hobbyist
September 16th, 2008I’ve often been asked to help people choose a good first Bonsai tree and without exception I will point them to a Juniper bonsai tree – specifically Juniper procumbens. There are many good reasons to support that choice, not the least of which is an excellent degree of cold hardiness. This is important, particularly for the beginner since it means that their Juniper will have a better chance of surviving a cold winter given perhaps a less than a professional level of attention.
